Chef duo invites you to a poetic picnic and collective food experience in honor of the soil

The soil is the common ground that connects us to all living things. It can be exploited and abused in our techno-capitalist age or be cared for and valued. 

The chef duo, Amalie & Floras Middage (Amalie & Flora’s Dinners), create a thought-provoking picnic at Food Is Now that pays tribute to the soil that forms the framework for the festival itself – where we can pitch a tent, live, and sleep, but also a universe of above as well as underground life on which we leave our mark. 

Guests will be presented with various delicious and wonderful mouth-watering morsels that interpret the soil in a concrete, political, and ritual way. During the picnic, a farmer will talk about caring for the land, and a living dress will be worn where the participants can cut watercress for their food. 

Based on this collective food experience, Amalie & Floras Middage set out new creative and hopeful directions for how we can inhabit the earth together. 

For several years, the chefs Amalie Svarre Nielsen and Flora Veronica Willumsgaard have hosted culinary, plant-based experiences that elevate, challenge, and develop food and meal formats as well as communities.
