SUNDAY 30 JUNE

Author and vocal ensemble open the Flokkr stage with an anticapitalist love manifesto

It's all about turning over the capitalist world, breaking down power structures, and practicing boundless love when writer Asta Olivia Nordenhof and the vocal ensemble ilinx perform at the Flokkr stage, presenting the raw and moving choral work 'Open Houses', created specifically for Roskilde Festival.

The choral work is based on the anticapitalist epic poem by the same name, originating from Asta Olivia Nordenhof's critically acclaimed novel Djævlebogen (The Devil Book), published by Gads Forlag in 2023. An erotic horror story about love in the time of capitalism, exploring how we can change our society and lives through community, solidarity and generosity.

At Roskilde Festival, the text is infused with ilinx's contrasting and futuristic soundscape, blending classical vocals, daring improvisations and deconstructed R&B with electronic beats and a diverse choir consisting of both professionals and amateurs - and perhaps you for a sing-along?

The result is an almost spiritual and heartwarming ritual which marks the opening of the Flokkr stage.
