Draped in the familiar attire of a bicycle courier – complete with a logo-emblazoned jacket, a bike helmet, and a box on the back – Axel Berger navigates the festival site in mesmerizing slow-motion, like a living, almost absurd, sculpture in his performance 'Delivery'.

The bicycle courier has quickly become a recognizable part of contemporary urban city life. By inverting the logic of a fast-paced and growing home delivery market, Berger challenges the relationship to work and efficiency, convenience, and burden.

'Delivery' unfolds as a durational performance, where Axel Berger, embodying the bicycle courier himself, invites the festival guests to take a moment to stop and reflect upon the fast-paced mindset of modern life.

The performance can be experienced on several occasions throughout the festival both at the campsite, at the festival site and in the city center of Roskilde.

Axel Berger is a contemporary Swedish artist and performer. His artworks take the form of interventions, including ready-mades or found materials, and performances that present bodies in different situations of movement. Previously his work has been shown at Lunds Konsthall (SE), Inter Arts Center (SE), Lahti Fringe Festival (FI), and others. He works and lives in Malmö, Sweden.

The performance is co-commissioned by Roskilde Festival and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Roskilde (Museet for Samtidskunst).
