When Folkehuset Absalon invites you onto the Dancefloor to the sounds of swing, rock'n'roll, latin, funk, and disco, your body and community will be at the center.

The dancing begins on Dancefloor, with line dance, iconic dance, and whacking. It is all about getting closer to each other, exploring how the dance experience shapes us, and immersing ourselves in a collective experience that focuses on the now – and, of course, having fun.

You will learn the steps when you are there, so everyone can join regardless of experience. Whether you come alone or with your friends, there will be someone to dance with.

Come and try the smooth and legendary boy band moves when instructor and superfan Nick Hvidtfeldt teaches us the iconic dance steps we know from music videos and live performances to NSYNC's 'Bye Bye Bye'.

Line dancing involves tight, synchronous movement without a partner and has roots in folk and chain dance. You learn the same choreography and become part of a large dancing mass. Dance instructor Paula Yau will guide you safely through steps and taps.

Whacking originated from the 1970s American club scene and has drawn inspiration from drag queens and iconic actors. The dance instructors Ida Irma and Hector will teach the participants arm techniques, steps, and performance for groovy funk and disco.

Folkehuset Absalon has brought people together for eight years and created communities across ages and differences. In their house on Vesterbro in Copenhagen, they hold communal meals, table tennis tournaments, dance parties, pottery workshops, children's theater performances, and much more. Folkehuset Absalon was voted 'The City's Best Experience 2022' by Berlingske and AOK's readers.
