FRIDAY 5 JULY

Experience the present unfolding, bite by bite, until it disappears

  • Friday 5 July
Iben Zorn: Untitled (Absorption), 14:45, Food Is Now

The artist Iben Zorn presents her sculptural, performative, and edible artwork at Food Is Now, created from fruit and beeswax, which slowly disappears as the festival participants eat it piece by piece.

The artwork 'Untitled (Absorption)' is a slow, sensuous, and collective process, where the use of scents and tastes creates vivid momentary experiences.

As a part of her performance, Iben Zorn cuts the sculpture into pieces and serves the bites of edible art for participants to consume, both literally by eating it and figuratively by engaging with the artistic concept.

"Untitled (Absorption)" is a further development of her final work "Pears" and has not previously been performed in the new format, which takes place at Roskilde Festival.

Iben Zorn graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna in 2023. She is based in Copenhagen and is particularly interested in the medium of sculpture as a mediating concept. Through social situations, she examines how humans move and sense through time and space.
