The limitations of the body blur as humans, mythical creatures, and ghostly giants merge in Matt Copson's enormous laser projections, which he animates live for the first time at Roskilde Festival.

In addition to being one of today's rising stars within the art scene, Copson is also known for co-directing music videos for the American pop star Caroline Polachek. And music also plays a significant role in the work he presents at Roskilde Festival.

Drawing inspiration from cave paintings, absurd theater, and 1950s' son et lumière, the British artist creates a disturbing universe. In Copson's hands, the dark Platform Stage transforms into a cavern-like space, where the only source of light is the unsettling creatures of the laser drawings, constantly changing form and character—accompanied by a soundtrack with elements from both mythic folklore and opera.

In recent years, Matt Copson has exhibited solo in cities such as Paris and New York. He has also written and directed the opera 'Last Days,' which premiered at the Royal Opera House in London and is set to be staged in the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles in 2024.
