RAMSNZ

Internationally acclaimed graffiti artist enriches the festival with mural that celebrates freedom

RAMS's works deal with oppression, restriction, and confinement in contemporary society.

The theme of his mural for this year's Roskilde Festival relates to the confinements of late-stage capitalism. In the piece, he attempts to move towards a utopian society where people of all ethnicities, classes, religions, and sexual preferences have equal opportunity to achieve a happy fulfilling and safe existence on earth.

He will follow this vision through the themes and colors depicted in the mural where you will experience a variety of dark dull colors and materials – hard, cold, and tough – transitioning into lighter and more vibrant colors applying movement and freedom to the artwork.

The mural is designed to include the overall theme of the festival, Utopia, depicted in RAMS’s graffiti aesthetic.

RAMS is an international graffiti writer/artist, based in New Zealand. He has painted in most major cities around the world. In the past years, RAMS has gained major recognition for his ability to paint graffiti artworks in the most impossible locations worldwide.
