Through letters and music, young refugees share their experiences and give an insight into their lives

  • Tuesday 2 July
    13:30, Flokkr

Engage with the personal stories of refugees living in Denmark. Through letters and music, they share their experiences and give an insight into a life that many of us maybe only know from the news.

Danish Red Cross Youth invites you to meet the people behind the narratives to learn more about the reality of being a refugee. The inspiring talk 'Storytelling Through Music: How Can Music Be a Tool To Tell Your Story ' at Flokkr gathers young artists from Danish asylum centers to discuss how they use music to handle their feelings, and why music is an important tool for sharing their stories. The talk will be in Danish.

If you want to dig deeper, you can also participate in the workshop 'Everyone Has a Story – Do You Want To Hear Mine?' at Danish Red Cross Youth's Empathy hub at Flokkr Container 1, where stories, memories, and experiences of asylum seekers living in Denmark will be shared through letters and music. In this safer space, you can also share your own story or just relax around the hub.

Danish Red Cross Youth is Denmark's largest humanitarian youth organization, with over 4.000 volunteers and activities for over 10.000 children and young people.
