Captivating video poem offers a moment of respite in the chaotic anticipation before a concert

When you build up your camp, your pavilion, your tent, it is a temporary home for you and your friends. The video poem by the artists Therese Bülow and Faun Vium refers to this important though complex act of worldbuilding

The video poem has been adapted for Roskilde Festival and takes place at night on an empty soccer field. The video shows a group of people building a pavilion-like structure in porcelain and wax – it is unclear whether the group takes part in a game or a mourning ritual.

The artwork will be shown between concerts on the big screens at Orange Stage and Arena and is dedicated to those who find themselves standing alone before a concert or who do not always feel part of the euphoric joy at a festival. It tries to offer a space for the quieter, mellow, and misty feelings sometimes overlooked in the excitement.

The artist duo Therese Bülow and Faun Vium make sculptural performances, portraying the construction of more sensitive infrastructures, communities, and worlds. Therese Bülow and Faun Vium are both educated at Malmö Art Academy and the University of Fine Arts Hamburg, HFBK. They both live and work in Copenhagen.
