"The world belongs to 21 Savage" was the headline when the Atlanta-based rapper landed on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine in early 2024. A testament to the fact that 21 Savage has quickly worked his way up into hip-hop's heavy league with a style where heavy trap beats lay the foundation for personal narratives and a strong rap flow.

The raw lyrics reflect an environment that 21 Savage knows well, and he makes no secret of the fact that he grew up with ties to a criminal underworld. However, a traumatic experience on his 21st birthday led him away from crime and into music. After making waves with a handful of mixtapes, he broke through with the Metro Boomin collaboration Savage Mode (2016) and subsequent debut album, Issa Album (2017). This has been followed by several successful albums, numerous awards (including a Grammy in 2020 for the song "A Lot") and collaborations with the likes of Drake.

His musical range, lyrical talent and social commitment are strongly evident on his latest album, american dream (2023), where he joins guests like Doja Cat, Burna Boy and Young Thug as a true storyteller. With both political indignation and harsh accounts of his own life, he embraces a musical spectrum from heavy trap to ghostly soul samples and smooth R&B.

His versatility and powerful flow guarantee a superb live experience, but European concerts have been few and far between. It is therefore with great pleasure that Roskilde welcomes a stellar rapper in top form to the Orange Stage this summer.
