Many inspirations converge in Allen Anjeh's highly personal take on alternative R&B and neo-soul. With a childhood in Cameroon and teenage years spent in Denmark, she is influenced by both her grandmother's collection of records by African icons like Fela Kuti and Manu Di Bango and her older brother's collection of 90s hip-hop.

Drawing from these inspirations as well as her own love for artists such as Destiny's Child, Michael Jackson and Missy Elliott, and influenced by the culture shock of moving from Cameroon to Denmark at the age of 12, she has found her own artistic expression and a voice you can't help but listen to.

With her compelling soul vocals, she conveys both personal experiences from a turbulent youth, but also a deep love for the African culture she brings with her. This shines through on her excellent debut EP, Ó mmɛ ne, which was finally released in 2023 after years in the making. The EP showcases a young artist who not only sings with an incredibly soulful vocal, but also creates songs with depth and nuance, embracing pop, soul, African roots and jazz influences.

It's a warm and organic take on modern soul that has already attracted international attention, and there's good reason to have high expectations when she visits Roskilde with her moving voice and personal songs.
