Asbjørn introduces himself on his Instagram as a "Danish pop rebel", and since his early years he has chosen his own path in pop music with personal courage and artistic integrity.
As a teenager, he had already caught the attention of the major record labels with his great pop ear and majestic voice, but when he realized that they wanted to dictate how he should act as a musician, he founded his own record label to maintain creative control. It paid off and has led to critical acclaim, dedicated fans, and respect from the likes of Lykke Li and Tessa.
With Tessa, he released the single "Farver" in 2022. A song that also testifies to Asbjørn's great commitment to fighting with pop as a weapon against homophobia and for diversity and a more inclusive understanding of gender. With epic pop bangers, he lifts the audience up, and with his sharp lyrics, he inspires and encourages people to stand up for themselves, even if they don't fit into stereotypical boxes.
His latest album, Boyology from 2022, featured collaborations with PC Music's Danny L Harle (Charli XCX, Caroline Polacheck, Dua Lipa) and Planningtorock (Lady Gaga, Robyn, Romy) and showed a pop artist in magnificent form. With a new album on the way, the stage is set for a rebellious pop spectacle at Roskilde.
