In recent years, artists from the Spanish-speaking world have left a strong mark on the international pop scene. However, few manage to seamlessly blend European and Latin American musical culture as effortlessly as the Catalan singer Bad Gyal. Currently, she is garnering global enthusiasm after enjoying a longstanding status as a megastar in her home country.

Bad Gyal has achieved this status in part through well-produced and catchy songs that blend dancehall, trap, reggaeton rhythms, autotune-pop, and soulful ballads, as well as through extravagant, sensual live shows filled with dancers and visuals that highlight her extraordinary vocals and overflowing charisma.

Bad Gyal truly began turning heads in 2016 with her debut mixtape, Slow Wine, and a Catalan-language cover of Rihanna's "Work," which went viral. The following year, Fact Magazine named her single "Jacaranda" the best song of the year. Her latest addition to an already hit-packed discography is the debut album La Joia meaning "The Jewel" in Catalan, and not surprisingly, the songs on this album shine like the most precious gemstones.

The guest list on La Joia reads like a "who's who" of dancehall, reggaeton, and trap stars, including Myke Towers, Anitta, and Young Miko. They all pay homage to Bad Gyal's musical visions and her ability to turn dancehall and reggaeton into arenas for vulnerability, female empowerment, and queer voices. Look forward to a liberating and epic dancehall party this summer when Bad Gyal visits Denmark for the first time!
