WEDNESDAY 3 JULY

A party packed with infectious reggaeton rhythms, sensual pop and a rebellious attitude

She's been called the reggaeton queen of Montreal, but Isabella Lovestory is actually from Honduras. After moving to Canada, she attended art school but grew tired of the elitist environment and started writing and recording songs for her cat!

From the start, music represented a rebellion and a joyful alternative to the snobby and institutional world. And when you listen to Isabella Lovestory, you get the impression of an artist who has fun with what she does. Her enthusiasm and joy rubs off on the audience, who are invited to join the danceable reggaeton party.

Hot perreo and reggaeton rhythms are coupled with sensual melodies and a strong ear for a good pop song, but there's also a charming DIY attitude to the music. Isabella Lovestory doesn't want to dance to someone else's tune, and especially not to patriarchal notions of how a woman should act with her music and sexuality.

"A defiant celebration of sexual agency" is what Pitchfork called her 2022 debut album Amor Hardcore, an album that is a liberating, entertaining, kinky and extremely danceable experience. You can expect the same when Isabella Lovestory fires up the reggaeton party at Roskilde.
