"21st-century disco packed with personality" was the conclusion of The Guardian when they gave top marks to Jessie Ware's latest masterpiece That! Feels Good! from 2023. Others followed suit, like Pitchfork, who labeled the album "Best new music" and praised Ware's ability to bring a rare elegance and passion to the current neo-disco craze, not to mention a slew of irresistible bangers.

The British singer already set a towering standard with her 2012 debut album Devotion. An album that, with its fusion of soul, pop, and R&B, was nominated for a Mercury Prize for Best Album. Since then, she has moved into more danceable soul/pop territories, and her passion for the disco genre really came to the fore on What's Your Pleasure? (2020), which in That! Feels Good! has been given a more than worthy follow-up.

Sophisticated arrangements meet pure dance ecstasy as Ware delivers a tour de force through the glittering palaces of disco, with help from afrobeat orchestra Kokoroko and cameos from the likes of Kylie Minogue and Róisín Murphy.

With a sublime voice, a tight band and a sense of disco's hedonistic glamour, Ware has also proven that she can deliver an epic and life affirming live show. Her concert at Roskilde could well be one of the biggest dance parties of the year.
