Katla move through some of the most crushing and swampy regions of extreme metal. Yet with their doomy and sludgy metal, the Danish-Faroese trio manage to create a life-affirming celebration for anyone with a penchant for churning riffs, heavy drums and loads of fuzz pedal.

Katla make no secret of their inspiration from giants like Sleep, Electric Wizard and Dopelord, but nonetheless, they ooze personality and integrity. And with their sure grip on dark and heavy music combined with an unpretentious attitude, they have put venues and festivals at their feet.

You simply have to surrender when Katla's music hits you with all its physical strength. A strength that shines through convincingly on EPs like Warmongering Luciferians (Chapter1) and Warmongering Luciferians (Chapter 2), but which manifests itself to the highest degree at their brutal concerts.

The band has just been in the studio recording their first full-length album, and dark clouds are gathering over Roskilde for an epic celebration of all things heavy.
