Dublin quartet Lankum have long been widely respected for their ability to combine the raw authenticity and dark tales of folk music with the expressive sonics of experimental rock.

Already their 2019 album, The Livelong Day, transcended folk music without leaving its roots. With an overwhelming sense of drama and texture and inspirations from doom metal, ambient and post-punk, they took audiences on a haunting journey through Irish folk music - a journey that also brought them to Roskilde Festival in 2019. The group seem even stronger on their latest album, False Lankum, which, with top spots on several 2023 year-end lists, shows that Lankum have firmly established themselves as one of the most important alternative folk bands of our time.

With dives into the darkness of the soul and biting political commentary, Lankum connects past and present, tradition and experimentation. Traditional folk instruments and rumbling electric noise are tightly woven together in haunting songs lifted by strong vocals.

The Guardian, which also named False Lankum album of the year, described one of Lankum's concerts as an exorcism in a superlative review. And the band is now getting ready to exorcise the evil spirits of our times with a beautiful and somber séance, when they return to Roskilde Festival with their latest masterpiece.
