Lorenzo Senni occupies a distinctive position in today's electronic music scene and has earned a reputation as an artist who, with equal parts fascination and conceptual rigor, takes apart the trance and rave music of the 90s and reassembles them in new and subtle ways.

Senni himself grew up in Rimini – the stronghold of hedonistic Italo disco culture – but became part of a straight edge hardcore scene. He thus viewed 90s rave culture from an outsider's position, which gives his dizzying journeys into electronic dance music an alien melancholy.

Senni's deconstructed take on trance music was introduced to the world on 2012's “Quantum Jelly”, released on Editions Mego. Subsequently, Senni was signed to the influential Warp label, through which he released the boldly named single in 2017: "XAllegroX / The Shape of Trance To Come" with a clear address to both "The Shape of Jazz To Come" (Ornette Coleman) and "The Shape of Punk To Come" (Refused).

Driven by experimentation and punk spirit, he has since continued his quest to shape the future of trance music. 2020 saw the release of the critically acclaimed album "Scacco Matto", and a new album will be released just before Senni's concert at Roskilde.
