With a background as a classical vocalist and pianist, and an urge to be in perpetual transformation in her search for new sound worlds, Catalan artist Marina Herlop is an artist attracting increasing attention.

Her album Pripyat, released on the influential electronic label PAN in 2022, showed an artist capable of creating almost posthuman landscapes, at once alien and alluring, with voice and electronics. The album was named after a now abandoned Ukrainian town near the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. A fitting title for the album's dark and ghostly moods.

In 2023, Herlop followed up the gloomy album with the bright and otherworldly album Nekkuja. She describes the record as a way for her to seek and affirm inner light. Her vocals, which draw inspirations from Carnatic music of Southern India and mostly move into self-invented languages, open up to the listener in a warm and embracing way, without compromising the experimental nature of the music and the feeling of stepping into an alien consciousness.

At Roskilde Festival, Herlop's beautiful yet radical universe and her unique voice will take you on a wild journey into alien worlds and dreamlike languages, and without doubt it will be a magical experience!
