Since releasing her EP Fleshy in 2017 and performing at Roskilde Festival the same year, ML Buch has emerged as one of the most promising talents on the Danish alternative music scene. She manages to create unique sonic worlds where dreamy indie rock, lo-fi pop and quirky electronic elements come together, and where strong songwriting goes hand in hand with surprising juxtapositions of sound.

Her talent was truly unleashed on the latest album, Suntub (2023), which has been praised both in Denmark and internationally. Among others by the American music site Pitchfork, who heard elements of both Dire Straits and Roxy Music in the album, while also pointing to the futuristic nature of the songs. Likewise, Exclaim! called the album a masterpiece and placed it among the top 10 albums of 2023.

Suntub is also a testament to how innovative ML Buch is in her approach to the guitar, whose strings are warped into strange landscapes using alternative tunings and weird plug-ins. The ability to combine synthetic elements, stripped down lo-fi and poetic guitar figures gives her songs a deeply personal signature that also shines through on stage.

ML Buch is never predictable, and a journey through a versatile and innovative universe awaits when this original songwriter returns to Roskilde.
