He fell in love with music as a child at the local church, where he also started playing the piano. As a teenager, he started producing his own music, combining the gospel nerve of the church with trap beats. However, it was when he was introduced to the amapiano genre that he truly found his musical calling.

His 2021 album Tayo was a huge success in South Africa and went platinum. However, Musa Keys makes no secret of the fact that he also wants to conquer the world with his dance-friendly amapiano sound. He's well on his way to doing just that with big hits like "Selema (Po Po Po)" and the latest, confident EP Becoming Him from 2023.
