Shrouded in mystery, Myrkur entered the music scene in 2014 and caused an international stir with her first EP, released on the influential American metal label Relapse. With the EP and the subsequent debut album M – produced by Garm from legendary Norwegian band Ulver – Myrkur delivered a highly engaging and atmospheric take on modern black metal.

Danish musician Amalie Bruun, who has revealed herself as the woman behind Myrkur, has since developed the project and demonstrated an impressive range, from all-acoustic folk music explorations to gothic rock and dark electropop. Despite the stylistic variation, Myrkur manages to create a consistent mood that embraces both personal experiences and epic sagas, alternating between dreamy chanting, melodic singing and demonic wails.

On her latest album, Spine (2023), Myrkur pulls together all the musical threads – from Nordic folk and chamber music to somber dream pop and dives into black metal. Together, the songs create a personal portrait of an artist pursuing her own unique vision. The album has received excellent reviews from international magazines such as Kerrang!, who wrote: "An hour of the most involving, evocative music to grace our ears in 2023".

Myrkur has previously demonstrated that she is a fascinating performer with an excellent flair for handpicking exciting musicians for her band. Also at Roskilde Festival, which she last visited in 2018 with two concerts. Now you will once again have the opportunity to step into Myrkur's dark universe when she returns to the festival with her latest masterpiece!
