With his well-crafted, eccentric, and humorous songs, Arkansas-based musician Nick Shoulders has earned a reputation as one of the most exciting new voices on a country music scene that is currently experiencing a vibrant renaissance.

Like many others in the more alternative country scene, Shoulders started out playing in punk bands, and the spirit of punk can be felt in the raw and unpolished expression of the music, which the world was first introduced to on the EP Lonely Like Me (2018). An album that also paid homage to the punk roots by including a highly personal cover of "No Fun" by Iggy & The Stooges.

At the same time, the release showcased an artist who, while innovating country music, reaches back to its rustic roots with a vocal that howls like a lonely train whistle in the night with extensive use of whistling and yodeling. He is also a multi-instrumentalist with an impressive range, using instruments such as guitar, fiddle, banjo and more to make the country heritage vital and relevant.

Live, Shoulders and his well-playing band are a charming acquaintance who really bring the audience into their universe. It's a universe that also unfolds on his latest album, All Bad (2023), which is not only a testament to Shoulders' unique vocals and strong songwriting. The album also showcases an artist who can juggle a multitude of expressions from country music's vast family tree – from lonesome and bluesy ballads to upbeat country waltz and lively Cajun inspiration. Listen for the yodeling voice at Roskilde, there's a great country party in store!
