Actually, they were called in as a last-minute replacement when they visited Roskilde Festival in 2022. Nevertheless, Kyoto band Otoboke Beaver delivered an explosive and entertaining concert that those in attendance will not soon forget. No doubt some in the audience were also thinking that Otoboke Beaver should return soon – and this year Roskilde will once again have the chance to experience the Japanese anarchic punk spirit in full bloom.

The band was founded in 2009 and has since thrilled audiences on numerous festival stages with their wild energy and unpredictable musical attack, which combines punk and riot grrrl with elements of progressive rock, surf music, hardcore and speed metal.

At a rapid pace, the audience is thrown around in a noisy carnival of genres, and although it can seem chaotic at times, the four musicians impress with dazzling interplay, catchy vocals and a sense of theatrical showmanship.

The prolific band has released numerous singles and EPs. In 2022, they released the album Super Champon, which received excellent reviews from leading media outlets. Anthony Fantano from YouTube channel The Needle Drop referred to them as one of the best Japanese punk bands right now. Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl has also hyped the band heavily, calling them "the most fucking intense shit you've ever seen". Don't miss out on an extraordinary punk concert when Otoboke Beaver hits Roskilde once again!
