With Colombian roots and a base in Mexico City, Laura Puentes – aka Rosa Pistola – is a vital force on the progressive reggaeton scene. With roots in the experimental electronic underground, Rosa Pistola began making a name for herself in reggaeton in 2015. A few years later, she helped spread the genre globally by participating in Boiler Room's first reggaeton session.
Rosa Pistola describes herself as a cultural architect who transforms her surroundings and creates new spaces for Latin American culture and music to unfold. With an immense creative drive and subversive approach, she sets dance floors on fire all over the world, while constantly pushing boundaries and leading listeners on new sonic adventures.
As a DJ, producer, and performer, she is a powerhouse who has taken numerous festivals by storm with a show that always gets the dance party going while serving up sensual rhythms and raw soundscapes. But Rosa Pistola is also a deeply committed promoter of reggaeton culture, who has a regular radio show on NTS and runs her own record label and recording studio.
This summer at Roskilde Festival, we will have the pleasure of experiencing her as both performer and genre ambassador, as she not only delivers one of her intense live performances, but also presents a curated program of visionary reggaeton at Apollo, where, in addition to Rosa Pistola herself, you can look forward to experiencing Bclip and Debit.
