St. Louis rapper Sexyy Red has quickly gained a reputation for her brash and body-positive lyrics that can make even seasoned listeners of rappers like Cardi B, Latto and Megan Thee Stallion blush. If you're up for it, however, it's a blast to indulge in Sexyy Red's lines, which are delivered with linguistic confidence and a good dose of humor over a base of raw hip-hop and trap.

She began releasing music under the name Sexyy Red in 2018 and released her first mixtape, Ghetto Superstar, in 2021. 2023 was to be Sexyy Red's year, however, as she kicked off the year with the single "Pound Town", which became a huge viral hit and later spawned a remix with Nicki Minaj.

This was followed by collaborations with DaBaby, Young Nudy, and Latto, as well as Drake and SZA on the hit "Rich Baby Daddy". Both Billboard and BET Hip Hop Awards named her as one of the most important new hip hop names of 2023, and that position was solidified on her mixtape Hood Hottest Princess.

The mixtape was praised by Pitchfork, who described it as one long party with several tracks that deserved to be "summertime anthems".
