"It's sho time", Sho Madjozi writes on his Instagram with a well-chosen pun on her name. Indeed, you can always expect an extravagant show when the South African musician takes the stage with her colorful and danceable tracks.

Pan-African pop and hip-hop influences merge with the life-affirming tones of South African genres such as amapiano and gqom. It's a cocktail that's impossible to stand still to, but the experience is further enhanced by Sho Madjozi's powerful performance, blending dance and visuals to create a seamless experience that has helped make her a style icon.

She is particularly known for drawing inspiration from Tsonga culture, both in her music and stage outfits, as well as incorporating traditional Xibelani dance into her shows. This awareness of tradition is coupled with inspiration from the Afrofuturist movement by the versatile artist who, in addition to her musical work, is also a poet, children's author and actor.

Sho Madjozi began releasing music as a solo artist in 2017. In 2018, she released the excellent debut album Limpopo Champions League, which showcased her wide musical range. Since then, in 2020, she has released the powerful mixtape What a Life (2020) and received a host of awards, including a BET award for best new international act. In recent years, she has also taken over a host of international festivals and iconic venues, and she always brings a dance party with her. Now it's sho time at Roskilde!
