Victory Belongs To Those Who Fight For A Right Cause is the title of Taqbir's first EP from 2021, a punk inspired battle cry that quickly spread from their native Morocco to the rest of the world, bringing the band's explosive expression to a host of international festivals.

Drawing inspiration from post-punk, hardcore and the riot grrrl movement, Taqbir fire harsh verbal and musical shots against patriarchal and religious authorities in their homeland, where women are encouraged to take a passive role and submit to men. Taqbir create a space to express anger while inspiring courage and inspiration with their furious energy and their call to fight against patriarchy.

When Taqbir take the stage, typically wearing burkas, they create a raw and vital reminder of what punk is really about. As Louder Than War wrote about their 2023 performance at the Supersonic festival: "The band are thrilling and audacious fun with a powerful and potent message, and that scream of freedom that is always so core in the best punk rock and taken for granted in our safe European homes."
