One of their songs may be called "Everything is Boring", but Canadian band The Beaches are certainly doing their best to make life a little less boring.

It's almost impossible not to get in a good mood when listening to their songs, which ooze humor, intelligence, and youthful drive, and are indicative of a band with a sure sense of cutting to the core of a good song. Since forming in 2013 in Toronto, they've been churning out one amazing chorus after another. Their unashamedly melodic songs are carried by charming vocal harmonies and tight musicianship that fuses classic guitar rock and power pop with a touch of punk and glam rock.

This combination earned them a 2022 Juno Award in the Best Rock Album category for Sisters Not Twins (The Professional Lovers Album). In 2023 they released their latest album with the characteristically snappy title Blame My Ex. Praised by Clash Music, among others, who called it "liberating and empowering", the album is a fine demonstration of the band's qualities.

Even better, however, is seeing The Beaches on stage. The band has said that playing their songs live is something very special to them. It's a sanctuary that's almost therapeutic, and their dedicated energy will undoubtedly create a party at Roskilde.
