Young South African singer Tyla has quickly become one of the hottest names on the African music scene. She recently took home a Grammy in the new Best African Music Performance category, ahead of giants like Burna Boy. She received the award for her single "Water", which went on to become a chart-topper around the world in 2023. 

With her blend of contemporary pop, R&B, and the danceable South African house variant amapiano that is currently taking the world by storm, Tyla has clearly struck a chord with the times, while managing to unite multiple genres into a catchy and personal expression. 

Tyla has come a long way since releasing her first single, "Getting Late", in 2019, just after graduating from high school. That single already secured her place as a rising star on the South African music scene, but with "Water" she has truly grown into a global phenomenon. 

The dance friendly hit has also created sky-high expectations for her debut album Tyla, which will be released this spring. An album that will undoubtedly contain several contenders for this year's summer hit, and whose songs are sure to get a party going when the South African star visits Roskilde.
