Want a taste of how Danish underground rap is doing. Look no further. Here are four young representatives. They love trap rap and they deliver their lines with a don’t-go-a-f*** attitude.
Shambs is Bjørn Hajk, who started making Shamba Memes – weed-glorifying memes with thousands of followers on Instagram. He then started making music. Under the rap moniker Shambs he releases tracks where he shouts (really shouts!) on top of trap beats.
Farli’ made a name for himself with the track “Jolly Cola” (made together with Cxrtier). It’s the first of many tracks the duo will release on a joint EP. Shambs does a cameo in the video.
B Wood$ is part of the TrapRig collective. His productions include the genre-typical beats but also includes the mournful samples of flutes, adding melancholy to the energy. He put out an ep in 2018, Wood’s værelse (‘Wood’s Room’).
Bracy Doll delivers some oestrogen to this package. She is a fighter (do listen to this if you understand Danish) and is a new teenage hope for rap in Denmark. She wrote Shambs back in the day and that led to her first track “DesignerBracy”. More has followed in its wake.
Expect something potent, something chaotic and something in-your-face when these four rappers take the Countdown stage at Roskilde Festival 2019.
