Sustainable Stage

Odeon is Roskilde Festival's sustainable stage and in 2009 it was greener than ever before.

How about experiencing a sustainable concert with climate-friendly LED-lighting and screens, while you are eating an organic hot-dog or enjoying a fresh cup of fair trade coffee or an organic cocktail? Or how about hanging out in the large sitting installation that collects rainwater and has lighting powered by solar cells?

The Odeon stage is the festival's sustainable stage, and the entire area surrounding the stage joined in on this focus. Roskilde festival has prepared for this approach in the past two years, and in 2009 the area could bloom with pure focus on ecology, fair trade and sustainability.

The following exciting stalls were present at the area in 2009:

  • Organic cocktail bar (Boutique Lize)
  • Organic milk bar (Naturmælk)
  • Organic hot-dog stand (Slagtergården)
  • "Den gyldne bønne" (the golden bean) – the festival's classic and excellent vegetarian food stall
  • Organic pizza (Muskelsvindfonden)
  • Fair trade icecream and climate icecream from solar-powered ice stall (Ben & Jerry’s)
  • Fair trade clothes (MS Action Aid)
  • Sustainable clothes (Patagonia)
  • Second hand clothes and fair trade design range (DanChurchAid)
