AFENGINN (DK)Too few are aware of it but Denmark has its own Kaizers Orchestra or Gogol Bordello. Afenginn is the name of the band, and they call their music 'bastard etno'. Afenginn mixes klezmer with Danish fiddler music in their own bubbling witch’s cauldron whose red-hot steam is composed of equal parts of Eastern European madness and Scandinavian melancholy. Even though this mad band is relatively unknown on the Danish music scene, bandleader Kim Nyberg and his entourage of brilliant bastards have already played 400 concerts in Europe, the US and Asia.
