Schlachthofbronx and Wooden Shjips to Roskilde

We add ghetto-tech and acid rock to a music programme that is slowly shaping up.

Our proof-reader has not had too much schnapps. This week’s two new bands are spelled this way. Behind the unlikely band names is music that embody the width and diversity in Roskilde Festival's music programme.

SCHLACHTHOFBRONX (DE) throws together all kinds of beats and tonal colours in a gaudy mash-up of ghetto-tech, electro and German ‘schlager’ music. Hotshot DJ Diplo has already given the trio a thumbs-up.

WOODEN SHJIPS (US) play psychedelic trance rock with inspiration from the 60s and Woodstock. Their lengthy, hypnotic sounds also indicate a thorough knowledge of 70s’ German krautrock and 80s’ sonic experiments from Spacemen 3 and The Jesus and Mary Chain.

More music on Friday
Today's bands are not the only announcement this week. Before going on Christmas holiday, we have another band ready. So if you are not already registered as a user and open the doors in our online Advent calendar, you should really create a Roskilde Festival profile before Friday.

SEE BAND LIST

Wooden Shjips are absorbed in the same atmospheres that went through the bloodstreams of bands from the golden age of psychedelic rock.
