Introduction by curator at Platform Marie Braad Larsen
Renowned artist Tino Sehgal will give a talk at Platform presenting his methodology and body of work. The talk will take Sehgal’s work This variation which can be experienced at Platform, throughout the whole festival as a point of departure. Throughout his career Sehgal has been interested in the intersections between art, music and architecture. All three core disciplines are represented at Platform, Roskilde Festival’s new transformable venue which was designed by Kunlé Adeyemi from NLÉ works and programmed by Tino Sehgal, creative producer Julia Simpson and Roskilde Festival. For the next several years Platform will continue to highlight experimental and cross-disciplinary artistic projects at Roskilde Festival.
Tino Sehgal (b. 1976 London, England) He currently lives and works in Berlin.
Sehgal has presented a number of solo exhibitions, recently at MdBK, Leipzig (2022), Bleinheim Palace, Oxford (2021), Odawara Art Foundation, Japan (2019); Officine Grandi Riparazioni, Turin (2018); V-A-C Foundation, Moscow, Russia (2017); Fondation Beyeler, Basel (2017); Jemaa el-Fna, Marrakesh; Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2016); Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam (2015); Martin-Gropius-Bau, Berlin (2015); Pinacoteca, Sao Paulo and CCBB, Rio de Janeiro (2014); Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing (2013); Tate Modern, London (2012); and Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York (2010) and Kunsthaus Bregenz (2006), among others. In 2013, Tino Sehgal won the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale for Best Artist.
