Skewed take on ‘surf’s up’ punk rock with a message

Arre! Arre! make the kind of infectious, energetic sound that gets your feet grooving and sliding while you throw fists in the air and give the finger to The Man. All at once!

This Malmö-based quartet has its roots in punk rock but whip it up with surf, garage, 90s alt. rock and riot grrrl inspirations. They may be upset (sometimes pissed off) and they turn those emotions into intelligent music and messages.

Gender identity, body image, the shallowness of the music industry, bigotry and the good ol’ defiance of authority all get a turn.

Arre! Arre! – whose name is taken from a Swedish podcast that recounts the stories of influential female and transgender figures – have released two albums: A.T.T.A.C.K. (2015) and Tell Me All about Them (2019). The debut was nominated for rock album of the year at the Swedish P3 Guld awards and was re-released last year. The follow-up surely deserves nothing less!

Anna Palmer, Henrietta Edlund, Katja Nielsen and Matilda Årestad stand ready to invite you to cut a rug when they play the Rising stage at Roskilde Festival 2019.
