The group formerly known as Bikstok Røgsystem broke through with an explosion in Denmark back in 2005 with their debut album Over stok og sten which gave us hits like “Cigar” and “Fabrik”. The three members Blæs Bukki, Eaggerman and Pharfar were among the first in Denmark to give the Jamaican dancehall genre a Danish-language universe. They did so with great humour, linguistic ingenuity and musicality.
They paved the way for following Danish dancehall acts like Klumben, Raske Penge, TopGunn and more.
That same year they played Roskilde Festival’s Arena stage and started a huge party (some footage here). They were the hottest thing around at that time.
Their presence was very brief. Just one year later the members decided to split up and devote themselves to other projects like Malk de Koijn, EaggerStunn and producer work. But the group returned in 2013 with the single "Delirium" and in 2015 with the EP Uranium, and they were back at Roskilde Festival for another bash. They had shortened their name to Bikstok.
Fast forward to 2019. The trio releases the single “Gondolagoz”, and the Bikstok fever is burning once again.
The band is cooking up a busy touring schedule, and of course Roskilde Festival is a stop on the way. We celebrate their homecoming by clearing a slot on the Orange Stage for these lads.
The inventors of Danskhall will deliver a big party – are you ready for it?
