Džambo Aguševi Orchestra is a brass band from Macedonia virtuously playing music that can be defined as a fusion of traditional Balkan, Gypsy and Turkish music influenced by swing, jazz and pop and film music, today considered as one of the top Balkan brass bands.
Džambo Aguševi was born in Strumica, Macedonia, in 1987 in a family with long and significant musical tradition. At the young age of 11, he first became part of an orchestra, founded by his uncle Koco Agusev who was a legendary trumpet player. Džambo Aguševi soon grew up to be a competent bandleader himself, and he built his reputation playing weddings and festivals across the region.
In the competitive world of Balkan brass bands, Džambo Aguševi Orchestra consistently came out on top. The ensemble won the legendary Guča Brass Band Festival in Serbia and has been banned from some competitions to give other bands a chance!
This band’s strength lies in its ability to appeal to a remarkably broad audience across all age groups. Everybody can get down and go nuts to this party music. Their extensive repertoire and flexible approach mean that they can perform quite complex pieces. They are a powerful and highly energised brass band!
