Bringing the London underground to Denmark

“Flex like who? Flex like what? Flex like Kev!” goes the lines on the track ”I’m the Man”. And there you have it – this artist has turned his own name into a catch phrase. Good for marketing purposes but fortunately FLEXLIKEKEV is much more than just that.

He is a UK artist who grew up in London. A few years ago he moved to his birthplace, Denmark, and he brought his English-language hip-hop productions with him. In many ways, they are the sound of the London underground.

FLEXLIKEKEV combines the sounds of UK-specific genres like grime and drill with the US sounds of trap. Together they form a solid, dark and gritty expression. FLEXLIKEKEV himself has mentioned Skepta as a major source of inspiration.

Right now, FLEXLIKEKEV has officially released two songs, “Guap” and “Stars” (some unofficial ones here). It’s safe to say that we haven’t heard the last of FLEXLIKEKEV.

FLEXLIKEKEV will play the Countdown stage at Roskilde Festival 2019.
