Turn off the sun! When Konvent plays we need complete darkness.
Their brand of slooooow and heavy doom metal sings of despair and hopelessness – delivered with an energy that will help you exorcise all your inner demons.
When the band first got together back in 2015, they played “Seven Nation Army” over and over until they felt ready to go hard and heavy. All four members were fans of guitar riffs, and they found a common joy in the repeating, hypnotizing riffs of doom.
In 2017, the band released its first demo. Four songs full of down-tuned guitars, growls and an open invitation to nightfall. Since then they have played lots of shows and won over lots of music fans who prefer things heavy and slow. The band has even made it to the front-page of the cultural section in the Danish national daily Politiken.
Vocalist Rikke Emilie List has said that when she goes on stage, she doesn’t want to sound like a woman or a man – but like “a fucking monster”. Mission complete, Konvent, collectively, is a monstrous band. They’re currently busy recording more new material, which will soon be out.
Come on over and hear Konvent unleash all your inner demons when they take the Rising stage at Roskilde Festival 2019.
