Kenyan-Norwegian pop artist Lil Halima (short for Lillian Halima) shines a light on love and vulnerability with her music. She works in a captivating field of modern R&B, pop and soul.
The 20-year-old singer’s music has some true international class to it. She was discovered on Instagram by her record label in 2017. After having just released a couple of singles, no less than Kanye West expressed appreciation of her cover art (made up of her own paintings) as well as her music.
Her cool sound and sensual voice have great appeal. That’s evident on her two EPs – Love songs for Bad Lovers (2018) and For the Dark Days (2019). They have earned her nominations for the Nordic Music Prize and the Spellemannprisen in the Urban section.
It’s only a matter of time before the whole world opens its arms for Lil Halima. Until then, be sure to catch her when she plays the Countdown stage at Roskilde Festival 2019.
