In-your-face rap with attitude and energy

Ravi Kuma is a hard-hitting electronic rap duo consisting of rapper Sharon Kumaraswamy and producer Aske Knudsen. They got together in 2016 and quickly attracted attention for their in-your-face music.

Industrial bass lines, marching beats and gimmicky samples add an exotic edge to their underground music which brings up tabooed and current topics – all shouted out through cheeky and explicit lyrics. If you haven’t heard it already, go listen to “Fuck This Shit I’m Gonna Be a Princess”. You’ll be jumping about in no time, wanting to be a princess yourself. It’s a middle finger to everything boring and trite.

The topics are served with a well-portioned self-deprecating humor and irony – but with a serious undertone.

Ravi Kuma is a quirky outfit and a big cannon of energy. Not least live (check out this live performance). They have been called everything from a tripping Nicki Minaj to a drunk M.I.A., but they are their very own entity.

Come be smitten by Ravi Kuma’s tough-and-funny-and-serious rap when they play the Countdown stage at Roskilde Festival 2019.
