When she was in school, Rebecca Lou was told that she was making too much of a racket, and in choir practice she was told that she sang too loud.
So, it was sort of written in the stars that Rebecca Lou should form a rock’n’roll band.
She’s been in the game well over a decade, and her voice never seizes to impress (nor to make noise).
Rebecca Lou previously fronted the hard rock band Stella Blackrose. She has since started up a band under her own name. Together with her band she writes raw, uncut punkish rock hits with catchy choruses. Her vocals are the defining trademark of the sound. She moans, she pleads, she hisses, she claws.
In 2018, Rebecca Lou released the EP Skeletons, which contains six firecrackers that refuse to let any energy levels go low.
If you dig acts like Sleater-Kinney, Brody Dalle, The Runaways and early PJ Harvey, then you should definitely check out Rebecca Lou.
When Rebecca Lou and band take the Rising stage at Roskilde Festival 2019, clench your fists and put on your best don’t-give-a-damn attitude. Then you’re fully ready for the kind of racket that Rebecca’s school teacher didn’t really care for.
