That irresistibly sweet highlife sound played by new young band

Santrofi is a box-fresh group of young musicians from the Ghanaian capital of Accra, led by bass player Emmanuel Ofori (known from Pat Thomas & Kwashibu Area Band & Ebo Taylor).

The band makes up a new highlife powerhouse consisting of outstanding talent, playing this beautiful up-tempo and synth-driven style, which was created in the early 20th century.

Rhythms, melodies and languages meshed together seamlessly, multiple guitars, groovy bass lines, traditional Ghanaian percussion, unique horn arrangements and backing vocals create a congenia,l exciting, swinging, fresh and tropical sound.

The band has various vocalists, and different singers take turn in front of the microphone. Moreover, the multi-instrumentalists exchange instruments during their concert.
