Bay Area rapper is a boos woman and a coming star!

Saweetie is a boss woman, and she’s paving the way for the next generation of boss ladies.

Her real name is Diamonté Harper, and her moniker is a pet name bestowed by her grandmother. Now it’s a name everybody knows.

It all started with “ICY GRL”, a freestyle over Khia’s “My Neck, My Back” and, ultimately, the breakthrough smash hit by Saweetie back in 2017.

The 25-year-old West Coast rapper got started by recording 15-second raps on Instagram which went viral. She gradually flipped into followers and views, and eventually a budding rap career.

Saweetie later started her own label (fittingly called ICY) and the EP, High Maintenance, followed. She has packed it with bold, confident anthems that offer an introduction to the assured style Saweetie has spent the last year honing. She has an impeccable ear for hooks, something which we will surely hear more of in the future.

Saweetie is only getting started. She's in the studio working on her debut album with plans for a summer release.

And of course, she’s playing Roskilde Festival 2019. Get ready for this new star!
