Now, he is the president (and signee) of Kanye West’s label G.O.O.D. Music, he has made the whole world prick up its ears with the Kanye West-produced Daytona (2018) album and he has been Grammy nominated on the basis of the same album.
Pusha-T’s sound is minimalistic and dark and makes a perfect backdrop for his narcotic stories. His slow, insistent flows and short-and-to-the-point deliveries make his rap engaging and occasionally frightening. His stories almost become truth; you believe that he really is the best pusher – of drugs and rhymes. Only few can match Pusha-T’s ability to sew together acute storytelling with supreme pop culture quips and punchlines.
Pusha-T can pull from a rich discography of popular tracks, both own hits like “Nosetalgia”, “Trouble On My Mind” and “If You Know You Know” and collabs on chart-stormers by the likes of Kanye West, Future and Kids See Ghosts.
King Push is currently working on the follow-up to Daytona. So far, he has given us two stellar singles, "Sociopath" with Kash Doll and "Coming Home" featuring Lauryn Hill. The latter song is also Pusha-T’s support of the Third Strike Coming Home campaign, which aims to free people serving life sentences in prison.
Will 2020 be the year of Pusha-T? Most definitely likely!
