"It's women's era in Danish music now. We don't want to wait for others to hand us the microphone, so we'll take take it ourselves."
The words come from Danish-Somali artist Amina. She’s a new talent on the Danish music scene.
Amina makes modern R&B, ranging from the silky smooth to the attitude-ladden.
Amina moves through the full spectrum of emotion with her songs – she has songs for late-night binging with friends, Sunday downers and self-confidence boosts. Amina is one who breaks social patterns, one who inspires all women and one who sings to make a difference.
The first time Amina made a name for herself was with the track ”Winter Season” on which she had Danish bigwig Gilli as a guest. Since then, she has released several promising singles, and her brand-new EP Black Butterfly is out now.
Amina was first discovered by Branco who plays the same date at Summer Days. Now she's on her way up and moving forward. And it probably won’t be long before she's a well-known name on everyone's lips. The potential is indeed there!
Amina will perform at Summer Days on 25 June together with FVN and Branco.
