We are in awe that so many of you took ‘Roskilde Festival – do it yourself’ to your hearts and made your own events. Through sales of donation tickets more than DKK 500.000 for our donation work were collected.
Since we this year were prevented from making Roskilde Festival we encouraged you to celebrate a community of music, art and activism at home.
Through out the Saturday we received pictures, videos and other messages from DIY festivals all over Denmark and also from celebrations in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Greenland and Cyprus.
We are impressed to see how wholeheartedly you went about creating your own festivals.
We put together a video with just some of the proof of your dedication.
More than 2000 support wristbands sold
Buying a ticket to Roskilde Festival means that you every year support the communities and opportunity of young people all over the World. Roskilde Festival is non-profit which means that all earnings are donated.
In May we donated DKK 15 million from Roskilde Festival 2019. Read more here.
This year we obviously do not generate any earnings from our festival. Instead we decided to sell donation wristband and other merchandise.
More than 2.000 of you bought a donation wristband. Thank you so much!
In all, we are able to donate more than DKK 500.000 to projects and initiatives helping young people express themselves. This is the best way possible to finish what has been indeed a challenging Spring.
We are looking forward to return with festival number 50 in 2021.
We have decided to continue our collection. Read mere at roskil.de/donate.
The 50th Roskilde Festival takes place from 26 June to 3 July 2021
