Årabrot was born inside the long, dark winters of Norway. The band was too black for metal and too avant-garde for punk. So, they have forged their own path.
Årabrot is Kjetil “Tall Man” Nernes and Karin “Dark Diva” Park. They live in the Swedish countryside with their two children in the old church that they own.
Through a handful of albums, they have dived into elements of noise rock, avant-garde and post-punk – always with a massive darkness to their sound.
We’re talking about a band who has covered both Lee Hazlewood and Death in June. Two very different kinds of darkness.
Their rumbling, jagged guitar and pummeling, semi-tribal drumming is right up the alley of fans of Swans, Killing Joke, Wovenhand and Chelsea Wolfe. This is music for people who like their rock to rock but in the ugliest, meanest way possible.
Don’t miss them!
