Inspiration from French hip-hop and drill, a bunch of hometown odes and some sci-fi inspiration.
That is the recipe for success.
Just ask Swedish-Assyrian Geivar Hasado Shlaimon aka A36.
He hails from the Gothenburg suburb of Partille. Here he has grew up, rapping along to songs of 50 Cent.
Now, he stands out as a true talent on the Swedish music scene.
The rapper made his debut with the single "ALIEN", a real banger that addresses how A36 is an artist who asserts himself and who is different.
He had a huge breakthrough in Sweden with "Samma gamla vanliga" which dominated the Swedish charts throughout the summer of 2021. He was soon to find fans in both singer Zara Larsson and footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic. In Denmark, the song has won radio airplay in a Scandinavian remix which includes Danish rapper Branco and Norwegian rapper Kamelen.
In November 2021, the debut album Area 36 came out, cementing the 26-year-old rapper as an artist who skilfully embraces a variety of expressions. His inspiration from French hip-hop shines through on the hit single "Alé Alé", he also adds elements from house music, and in general A36's songs sound like an obvious soundtrack for hot summers.
Catch A36 when he performs on the Countdown stage at Roskilde Festival 2022.
